Brothers Derek and Joel Callahan started Clearwater with one truck and a simple idea: do the work right and show people proof. Fourteen years later, that idea runs 312 maintenance contracts and has built hundreds of pools across the Tulsa metro.

Our Story

Built in Tulsa.

2011

One truck. Two brothers.

Derek and Joel Callahan started Clearwater out of a shared belief that Tulsa pool owners deserved better: reliable technicians who show up when scheduled, do the work correctly, and communicate what they did. Derek came with a contractor’s license and 6 years in construction. Joel had built his reputation as one of the most knowledgeable service techs in the metro.

2015

The digital report idea.

Joel built Clearwater’s first digital service report system by hand — a structured document sent after every visit with water chemistry readings, work performed, and photos. Customers called it “the thing that makes you different.” It became the most cited reason new customers switched to Clearwater, and it still is.

2019

The construction crew grows.

With over 200 maintenance contracts and a reputation for meticulous work, Derek expanded the construction division. Clearwater began offering turn-key in-ground gunite builds with a 3D design consultation process borrowed from the architecture world — you see exactly what you’re getting before a shovel touches the ground.

Today

312 contracts. 14 techs. One standard.

Clearwater now manages 312 active maintenance contracts, operates 14 GPS-dispatched technicians, and completes dozens of new pool builds and renovations every year. The business is bigger. The standard hasn’t changed: show up on time, do the work right, and send proof.

Derek oversees every new pool build and renovation from design consult through final inspection. His construction background means jobs don’t just look right — they’re built right. He personally approves every 3D design before it goes to a customer.

Joel runs the service operation — 14 technicians, 312 contracts, and the digital report system he built from scratch. His philosophy: customers should never have to wonder whether the pool was serviced. The report answers that before they even think to ask.

Annual Maintenance Donation

Rudisill Community Center

Every year, Clearwater donates a full annual maintenance contract to the Rudisill Community Center pool in north Tulsa — including weekly service, chemical costs, and equipment repairs. It’s one of the only community pools accessible to north Tulsa families at no cost.

South Tulsa Adaptive Sports

Clearwater maintains the pool for a south Tulsa adaptive sports facility that serves children and adults with physical disabilities. Water-based therapy is foundational to their programming. We keep the pool hospital-clean every week, no charge.
